Wiki overview

This site contains all official System Sola content in the format of a MediaWiki. Content is ordered (from largest to lowest tier) by book, section, then chapter. All current content is as follows...

Book I, System Sola Core Guide

This book is the one essential text of System Sola; it details all of the game's core rules and a gives a teaser to the game's unique setting, though the game can be "setting neutral."

Section I, The Rules. This section details how the game is played. It begins with a description of basic gameplay and each attribute associated with character statistics, which are the core reference points for most game rules. Then, it is further split into two subsections: Session-Time (or S-Time) and Free-Time (or F-Time). S-Time goes into how social encounters, combat encounters, and other general challenge-based situations are designed to be played out in real-time amongst Players and TMs. F-Time goes into how the Players’ central hub — their Space Station — is maintained & upgraded and details long-term activities Players can undertake such as crafting, building, exploring, and trading.

Section II, The Characters. This section details the creation of Player Characters by going through the Character Sheet and all options Players have for customizing their characters. This includes options for Kin, Background, Class, and Feats (short for features). This section also explains the Station Sheet: a sort-of "shared Character Sheet" that tracks the Players' shared Space Station, which is at the core of F-Time gameplay.

Section III, The Game Master. This section contains content exclusively catered to the Game Master. This includes sample Items, Ships, Artifacts, Creatures, Bosses, and challenges for the Players to encounter. It also includes random tables for the Game Master to roll on and generate random effects/tools. Finally, guidelines for customizing each of these listed elements will be provided.

Book II, System Sola Setting Guide: Sola

This book is a supplementary text of System Sola; specifically, it defines the history and places of a fictitious planetary system for a System Sola Game Master to use as the setting of their campaign. This planetary system, called Sola, is based on the Solar System (home of Earth and humans) and its real-life history, of which canonically precedes the history of System Sola's fictitious setting: Setting Sola.

Section I, The History. This section describes the fictitious history of Sola: its peoples, cultures, technologies, and major historical events up till the Earth calendar year of 3000. To start, it describes this history from the perspective of the human species, starting at their year of 2100. Then, it is divided into subsections, each detailing the histories of all kin species in Setting Sola. Through these subsections, the major figures and factions of Setting Sola will be defined and described. This is the only section of this book that Players are free to read; it's recommended that the later two sections are only read/used by Game Masters.

Section II, The Setting. This section details the different locations and characters of Sola: the planets, moons, stations, and other places Players can explore and the non-player characters (NPCs) they can interact with. It provides a basis for all the information a Game Master needs to narrate and orchestrate their campaign, from narrative blurbs for the Game Master to read out loud to their Players as they explore and engage with the game world to specific Encounters the Game Master can challenge their Players with.

Section III, The Tools. This section organizes all gameplay-oriented aspects of Sola: its maps, Creatures, Items, Vehicles, and other technical elements that Players may face.
